Where snacks go to die

You know what really grinds my gears? Thoughtfully packing a lunch for my kid, only for it to come back every day looking like a crime scene. I mean, how hard is it to eat a sandwich and some fruit? I ask them what they want in their lunch and pack them exactly what they request, yet 90% of the lunch comes back, not even usable for tomorrow’s lunch. It’s like they purposely open the wrappers of every snack and then just leave them there to decompose and die. And why can’t the school just throw out the garbage when they DO eat their food? Does an apple core really need to be sent home? Or a half eaten apple sauce pouch that ultimately spills over the bag? Is that really necessary? Ugh!
